Bishop Richard H. and Reverend Dawn Marie Johnson have been engaged in full-time ministry throughout the United States and Canada since 1994.
For almost ten of those years, Richard, Dawn, and their kids lived full-time in a fifth-wheel trailer in church parking lots all over North America.
By the time they came off the road in 2005, they had ministered in thirty-eight states and four Canadian provinces, comforting and encouraging hurting people in prisons, jails, juvenile detention centers, residential re-entry programs, churches, home fellowships, and many other venues.
In January of 2005, Richard and Dawn started Christian Formation Ministries, Inc. (CFM), in New Albany, Indiana.
CFM Community Chaplains minister to inmates and addicts while they are incarcerated and after their release, as well as their children and other immediate family members.
RICHARD is an author, theologian, teacher, and musicianary; a purveyor of “Christian swamp music” with numerous recordings to his credit. For years, he was known as “Stonefingers” except in Arkansas, where they just called him “Stone.”
He was ordained a Minister of the Gospel in 1995 and commissioned a Bishop and Apostle in 2017. He served as a volunteer Head Chaplain at Henryville Correctional Facility until it closed and is Head Chaplain of CFM's Community Chaplaincy.
Richard teaches mentors church and para-church ministry leaders and writes books, music, life skills curricula, ministry training materials, resources for recovery and reentry, and scripture commentaries.
He is a husband, father, and grandfather...and very happily so.
DAWN is a fifth-generation minister. She's a teacher, preacher, and exhorter with a powerful prophetic gift. You might say it’s in her blood.
She was ordained a Minister of the Gospel in 2000.
Dawn is a wife, mother, grandmother, and the co-founder of Christian Formation Ministries.
She is successful in the business world as a trainer, IT specialist, and curriculum developer. Her business-related skills are instrumental in ministry.
Dawn is Christian Formation Ministries’ Volunteer and Chaplain Training Director, Executive Chaplain for CFM's Community Chaplaincy, and develops many of CFM's unique ministry resources.
An experienced prison minister and mentor, Dawn has tremendous discernment and is gifted by God to facilitate the healing of past emotional traumas and the pain they cause.
MAY WE SERVE YOU?
Richard and Dawn are available, individually or together, to minister anywhere in the United States and Canada.
They are also available to minister outside North America on request.

My Recovery Online is an empowering new approach to addiction recovery based on our book - Powerless.
My Recovery Online is needed because addiction recovery programs based on the traditional twelve steps do not work for most people who seek help.
They do not work because they do not address the root cause of addictive behavior - a pervasive and destructive sense or spirit of powerlessness.
As a result, only 5-10% of addicts who seek help successfully stop using.
My Recovery Online meets weekly on Thursdays from 7:00-8:00 pm eastern time.
To join us on Zoom, enter ID number 210-404-5153.
